The Leading Method

The Leading Method

The Perfect Blend is the leading method for corporate language training. By deploying a globally accepted standard, organizations are able to measure and compare skill levels across the globe and throughout their organization.

Speexx course levels and placement tests correspond exactly to the official Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning and Teaching (CEFR), which is the most widely used and recognized language proficiency scale in the world. Assessments are easily interpreted to determine employee or applicant language qualifications. And through its unique set of so-called descriptors and can-do statements the CEFR level system is uniform for all significant languages – no need to use different assessment systems for different languages. There are six precisely defined competence levels ranging from basic user to near native speaker level. Using the CEFR testing system, large organizations can objectively and economically determine and track to what extent students measure up to concrete business situations in a foreign language, and at which particular point a language course should commence.

What a standard scale can do for your organization

Speexx is the only provider of a complete online language training solution, comprising a placement test, self-paced online study, active coaching and live communication skills training, all based on the CEFR proficiency scale.

The CEFR is made of six precisely defined competence levels ranging from basic user to near native speaker level. Using the CEFR proficiency scale, assessments are easily interpreted to determine employee or applicant language qualifications.

The Common European Framework comprehensively describes

- the competencies necessary for communication
- the related knowledge and skills
- the situations and domains of communication

The framework is of particular interest to multinational organizations as well as for course designers – in fact, to all those involved in corporate language teaching and testing. It facilitates a clear definition of teaching and learning objectives and methods, and provides the necessary tools for assessment of proficiency.

The Speexx trainer policy guidelines and the Virtual Trainer Academy

In keeping with its commitment to promote the most effective, efficient and modern approaches to foreign language acquisition, Speexx has established the industry's most restrictive policy guidelines for appropriate use of coaching tools, trainer kits and the CEFR in blended learning courses. Speexx trainers must produce teaching references to include the following: a proven track-record of teaching the target language to adults for at least 2,000 instructional hours in the three years immediately preceding Speexx licensing, a portfolio of professional accomplishments including extensive experience of teaching the target language in professional business environments, or successful completion of a program for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) or in Teaching of English as an Acquired or Additional Language (TEAL) or comparable qualification for another Speexx target language from an accredited institute, college or university. The program must consist of a minimum of 100 hours of in-class theory and methodology and a minimum of 50 hours of supervised practice.

The ongoing global language trainer education and certification program Virtual Trainer Academy requires our trainers to attend live online refresher sessions every 4 weeks.
